Treatment Process
A short orientation on how treatment through orva works and who is responsible for what.
orva's Role
orva is a telemedicine platform that connects patients with licensed Swiss physicians and partner pharmacies.
The platform may use rule-based checks to determine whether telemedicine care through orva is generally possible. This check is only a platform eligibility check. Diagnoses, treatment recommendations and treatment decisions are made exclusively by licensed Swiss physicians.
Process
You complete a medical questionnaire, may state optional non-binding preferences and pay for the initial physician assessment.
Before treatment, we verify your identity. Depending on the case, photos or follow-up questions may be required before a physician can complete the assessment.
The treating physician decides whether treatment is medically suitable, whether further information is needed or whether an in-person consultation should be recommended. There is no entitlement to a prescription.
Prescription and Fulfillment
If treatment is prescribed, you can decide whether to use fulfillment through orva and a partner pharmacy or use the prescription only. Free choice of pharmacy remains available.
When ordering through orva, the prescription is transmitted to the partner pharmacy. The pharmacy handles pharmaceutical validation, compounding or dispensing, and shipping.
Preferences
Preferences about application form or type of treatment are non-binding. They serve only as context for the physician and are not medically evaluated automatically.
The final selection of medications, components, dosage form and use is entirely the responsibility of the treating physician.
Key Documents
